Letter to a Future WITS Student

With WITS programs ending soon, it’s important that students and volunteers experience a sense of closure and are given time to reflect on their year together. The Program Coordinator team have a few warm-up activities that we lead the group in to aid in that process. One of our favorite activities is working with the kids to write a letter to a future WITS student. The results are adorable, occasionally hilarious, and give you an idea of what WITS means to these students.

“I hope that you will love WITS as much as I did and that you will also love your WITS partner as much as I did. And you will ALWAYS respect your WITS leader. And you don’t always need to pick the book maybe sometimes you need to let your partner pick the book. Hope you have a blast at WITS!

P.S. You get yummy snacks!”

” My favorite parts about WITS is Mrs. B. She is nice, kind and friendly and that I learn new things while reading books. I thought at first that WITS was a university but now I know that WITS is a place to read and do homework. WITS is also a fun place to be. My buddies help me with words I don’t know.”
