GOOSEBUMPS: GHOST CAMP
read alouds with Annie Kennedy.
Consistency is Key
WITS has always understood that consistency is key when it comes to empowering readers. This summer, WITS is here to continue to provide the joy of reading to anyone who needs it. Annie Kennedy, WITS Community Manager, will be doing a read aloud of Goosebumps: Ghost Camp by R.L. Stine. Videos will be posted every Friday between 1pm and 2pm. Each video will cover a different section of the book accompanied with discussion questions aligned with that section. This spooky read aloud is perfect for 3rd-6th graders. We hope these read alouds are fun, scary, and entertaining for everyone!
Week oneChapters 1-4
Ghost Camp by R.L. Stine tells the story of Harry and Alex, two brothers who start summer camp in the middle of the season. They don’t know anyone and are trying hard to fit in. They quickly realize, though, that this camp isn’t all that it seems to be. Weird things keep happening, and soon, Harry and Alex don’t know what’s real and what isn’t.
Today, we’ll be reading chapters one through four. Because Ghost Camp is a chapter book with no pictures, you can sit back, relax, and listen to me read. Following the reading, use the discussion questions in the activity to dive deeper into the book.
Week twochapters 5-9
When we last left off, Harry and Lucy were grilling hot dogs in the campfire. When Harry loses his hot dog, Lucy reaches into the fire to retrieve it.
Today, we’ll be reading chapters five through nine. Our new discussion questions for this week are included in the activity.
Week threechapters 10-14
Last week, Marv told the campers two ghost stories, and Harry and Alex found themselves alone at the campfire after the other campers suddenly disappeared.
Today, we’ll be reading chapters 10 through 14. Our new discussion questions for this week are included in the activity.
Week fourchapters 15-20
In chapters 10-14, a lot of weird and scary things happened to Harry and Alex’s fellow campers. Or did they? No spoilers here, so be sure to watch last week’s video before pressing play for this week.
Today, we’ll be reading chapters 15-20. Our new discussion questions for this week are included in the activity.
Week fivechapters 21-27
This is it, the final seven chapters of Ghost Camp by R.L. Stine! I’m so happy that you were able to join me on this spooky summer camp journey, and I can’t wait to see what happens to Harry and Alex. Our new discussion questions for this week are included in the activity.
