Honorees
Jennifer Alter Warden will receive the Alter & Stone Outstanding Volunteer Award at the 2020 UnGala for her exceptional service to WITS and the Chicago community. Jennifer joined the WITS Board of Directors in 2014. Over her tenure as a director, Jennifer has brought passion, leadership, and strategic skills that have enabled WITS to become the largest provider of literacy programming to Chicago Public Schools. We are so grateful for what she has done for WITS and are inspired by her contributions across the city.

Jackson/PPM America volunteers have partnered with WITS since 2017, originally partnering with Jenner Academy and bridging the transition for the Jenner/Ogden merger in 2018. Volunteers meet with third graders on a weekly basis, helping them make the connection from learning to read to reading to learn. Whether reading on the stage or convening in the Ogden Global Citizen’s Center, Jackson/PPM America volunteers have been meeting Ogden students where they are in order to build relationships centered around a love of reading and exploration. This year, as part of the UnGala series of events, WITS honors Jackson/PPM America as our Corporate Partner of the Year.
