Send a message to your WITS Student.

Building Communites. Empowering Readers.

WITS will continue to support and encourage our students during this time. As a mentor, reader, and ally, we invite you to write or record a message to your WITS student. We will try our very best to get your message to your student. WITS program staff members are working to stay connected to teachers and families while schools are closed.  Thank you for your dedication to your student and being a champion for all that WITS does. If you would like to help students, please consider making a donation to WITS to give books to students so they can build their at home libraries.

  • A handwritten note means a lot to students! Consider writing a note to your student, taking a photo and uploading that photo here. You can also upload a video message. Message ideas and prompts: Talk about what you’re reading right now either on your own or with your own children. Talk about your favorite memory with your mentee this year. Recall a good conversation you had about books. If you happen to remember the book you were reading before program ended- asking the student if they were able to find it at the library. Other general messages of encouragement.
